Lê Vĩnh Tài | no. 9:5

perhaps it’s the implications of a country
that can do nothing but together cry
perhaps it’s a nation
that can do nothing but sit and wait to lose the land beneath their feet
their home

By Lê Vĩnh Tài, translation by Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm

The implications

– is it a courthouse?

yes and no

-is it a judge?

possibly

-is it an accusation?

that’s what those guys said

-can we see a barrister?

sometimes yes, sometimes no

-there will be implications?

yes and also no

perhaps it’s the implications of a country

that can do nothing but together cry

perhaps it’s a nation

that can do nothing but sit and wait to lose the land beneath their feet

their home

_____

Good evening. I really enjoyed your poem. It is short, to the point and visually per word choice stunning. If you don’t mind I would love to feature your poem on my poetry corner. I will just reblog your post on my page and hopefully, others will come to your page and read more of your work. Well done.

Good evening everyone one and welcome to another Friday Night Poetry Corner. Today, this evening is a nice work of art, a poem that details the function of society in a surreal manner, it needed to be shared. “The implications ” By Lê Vĩnh Tài is a wonderful poem that will make you think. Please visit this poet’s page when you get a chance.
