Lê Vĩnh Tài | Often by the sea (232)

even the grains of sand were haunted by the drops of blood.

As the blood escaped, she lowered her head to welcome them. Breathless and warm. By a breeze found were the remains of the blood drops at low tide.

By Lê Vĩnh Tài, translation by Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm

Often by the sea, she stares at the sky, even the grains of sand were haunted by the drops of blood.

As the blood escaped, she lowered her head to welcome them. Breathless and warm.
By a breeze found were the remains of the blood drops at low tide.

Taken away with the tides were any traces of the droplets on the sand.

As though it has ever existed.
_____
