Lê Vĩnh Tài | he pulled me up against his body (243)

he pulled me up against his body
on fire

my heart bled

softly
and gently

he kept touching it
until upon death
I’m alive.

By Lê Vĩnh Tài, translated by Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm

he pulled me up against his body

on fire

my heart bled

softly

and gently

he kept touching it

until upon death

I’m alive.

chàng kéo em lên để chống lại cơ thể của chàng

trên lửa

trái tim em chảy máu

êm

và mềm

chàng cứ chạm vào

cho đến khi em

chết đi sống lại…

By Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm

There's magic in translating a body of work from one language to another.
