Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm | Fleeting is the light (99)

By Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm

Fleeting is the light
Shimmering hues of bright
In my short existence
Long before I am naught
Exist I in darkness

Will my heart thump that beat
The same one coursing heat
Lost in an instance
A bump in the night
Silly fumbling

See never again the Sun’s amber
Purples of stormy clusters
In my arrogance
I’d thought I would ever
Lose

The Sun heat scorch!
The wind ice!
The thunder deafening!
I… understood nothing!
Just that it’s so cold…
