Lê Vĩnh Tài | all the poems were singing in unison (258)

all the leaves were bending over smiling
people were the only ones looking up crying

the day Mother rode the golden wind
headed for the sky turned into a silver star

By Lê Vĩnh Tài, translation by Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm

all the poems were in a sky blue

only the winning poem was in red

all the moons were blue

only the sunrise was a diluted orange

all the leaves were bending over smiling

people were the only ones looking up crying

the day Mother rode the golden wind

headed for the sky turned into a silver star

all the poems were singing

in unison the blues

There's magic in translating a body of work from one language to another.
