Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm | going home (189)

By Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm

Newly weds tried to sell their wedding bands for funds to buy petrol and water to help the exodus of people trying to get home outside of Saigon in lockdown.

An exodus of the labour force makes their way home, more than a thousand kilometers outside of the city centre.

The jeweller matched the value of their rings. Told them to take the beautiful rings home and cherish them.

Travellers on the way home, met angels in disguised.

Charity is given from one’s heart. Never one’s pocket. The true acts of kindness.
