Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm, the poet and translator, born 1971 in Phu Nhuan, Saigon, Vietnam. The pharmacist currently lives and works in Western Sydney, Australia.

The gentle whispers of the breeze

upon the mountainside with ease

flowered the first cherry blossoms

Tám gió lặng yên

nở trên triền núi 

bông anh đào đầu tiên.
