Lê Vĩnh Tài, the Vietnamese poet and translator, born 1966 in Buon Ma Thuot, Daklak, Vietnam. The retired doctor is still a resident of the Western Highlands, an acclaimed businessman in Buon Ma Thuot.

Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm, the poet and translator, born 1971 in Phu Nhuan, Saigon, Vietnam. The pharmacist currently lives and works in Western Sydney, Australia.

the muse

no bothered to weigh her

she was so light

she hops around on the grass

tried in the breeze to scrape up

a melody

caused the grains of dust just as light as her

to dream of blooming

.

không ai đem nàng đi cân ký

vì nàng nhẹ hều 

và hay nhảy lò cò trên cỏ 

quét trong gió 

một bài hát

làm những hạt bụi cũng nhẹ như nàng

mơ mộng nở hoa
