Sonnet 5 – Canines turning 50

So it is age that we crave so much youth

Tick tock the ovaries gonads dry thin

So it is age that our hearts ache anew

A mere half-century body lock-in

The winding down of the clock laughing mock

Those say time’s relative delusional

Between the lines wrinkles the hidden shock

Death is by minutes seconds all normal

The air inhale the space the food the shit

The planet bleeding heat us the miser

To die is nature’s law we must submit

The earth leave some, us the fertilizer

Our children we have given our mind-heart

Our mind senile back bent we could now depart.
