By Đình Nguyên, translation into English by Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm
If you don’t dig it up
how will you know what’s underneath
.
Stuff can be buried under the soil fair enough
our memories can be just as buried
beneath piles and piles of garbage
.
Time is a friend of these cover-ups
closures, concealment of everything
.
Forgetfulness is not just an unfolding sign
it’s there in every present minute piled on top of each other
filling up like quicksand
.
It’s hard work for those
who wants to find the truth
they’re exhausted with having to
clean up the endless
garbage…
.
It’s there and then it’s not
.
What was it again?

FEBRUARY 2022
_____
.
Nhọc nhằn thay
cho những người đi tìm sự thật
đã kiệt sức mình
đi dọn rác…
mênh mông
.
Nhớ nhớ quên quên
.
Chuyện gì đã xảy ra vậy?
