vì thế tôi uống một ngụm can đảm
DUTCH COURAGE
It takes bravery to leave the house
Enter a world of elitist
The bold and the beautiful
Throwing on a layer of foundation
To the eyebrows draws the extra lines
A splash of red lipstick
It takes courage to face myself
The mirror, a reflection of my flaws
The errors seeping through my pores
Who knew?
So I take a sip of Dutch courage
I’m drunk with anticipation
At my very doorstep, life.

I have a touch of agoraphobia too…my mother was housebound nearly all her life

I see, are you okay? A professional may be of benefit unless this is what your mother have accepted. With Covid, most of the people where I live works from home and never leaves the house, they stay connected in other ways..

ah, it’s my day job, sometimes I bring it home. This poem is more of a stab at arrogance, but the poem once it has been written it belongs to the reader. I can see you interpretation of it. 🙂
